Public Boat

Myanmar public ferries are situated all along the Ayeyarwaddy River starting from the northern part of Myanmar in Bamaw going south to Mandalay and Bagan and Delta area in the south. Here I mention all schedules. Public boats are VERY BASIC. The arrival and departure times can be changeable depending on the seasons and the water level in the river. In the rainy season, mid May to mid August, the travel time tends to be less because the water level in the river is higher. I would only recommend the public ferries for budget travelers who have plenty of time.

Private Boat

Myanmar private ferries operate especially in Mandalay, Bagan area and Sittwe , Mrauk U, Taung Gogk (down to the Ngapali Beach) and Tavoy, Myeik, Kawthaung.
